                                                     LIFE IS BUT A DREAM

Gently and slowly the boat man sailed from the far bank of the mighty river towards the near bank. The people at the near bank approach. For five thousand years this same boat man had paddled people from the near bank to the far one on this same old fashioned canoe.
Never for once had any person seen him bring people from the far bank to the near one. As he approached they considered him diligently and saw he had no eyes, nose, ears nor mouth. He had no facial features at all.

He stretched out his hands towards them and each man dipped his hands into his pocket and brought out two silver coins; all they were allowed to take from where they were coming from although some of them had created and owned much wealth. They gave the money to him and filed into the boat.
He set sail and began to sing as follows

LIFE IS BUT A DREAM 3

Row, row, row your boat gently down the stream,
Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily life is but a dream.
You wake up in the morning and look into the mirror to see
Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily life is but a dream.

The face you behold now is forgotten as you leave that place
Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily life is but a dream.
The life of man is like the dew upon the morning grass
Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily life is but a dream.

Now it is but when the sun is high it vanishes into thin air
Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily life is but a dream.
Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily life is but a dream.
Oh life is but a dream………

LIFE IS BUT A DREAM 4

“Now everybody sing with me” he says and then they all begin to chant the refrain hilariously: Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily life is but a dream, over and again not knowing where they are been taking to neither are they aware that they would never ever return again to where they were coming from.
